The first round of the u16 championship got underway this evening. Blarney and Douglas exchanged early goals in what was an exciting first quarter. The stiff breeze against Blarney proved evident, however, at half time they were only 4 points down. Unfortunately, Blarney were slow out of the traps in the second half and the lead stretched out to 8 points. That said, Blarney showed true grit and with an excellent team performance clawed the lead back to 1 point with a few minutes to go. Alas, the game ended with Douglas winning by 2 points but it was a gallant effort by all involved. 
Onwards and upwards to Round 2 v Inniscarra in 2 weeks time. An Bhlárna abú!
