Congratulations to our U13 Footballers beating Bride Rovers after extra time 5-11 to 4-8 in a thrilling Final on Wednesday night.
Bride held an early lead 1-3 to 0-2. Blarney got back into the game with a fantastic first goal, however, and the half time score was 1-5 to 1-2 to Bride.
Blarney got the first few scores in the second half before Bride rovers got two more goals which put them six points up. A second goal for Blarney gave the team some momentum, followed by the next point and then a third goal for Blarney led us to believe the win was ours, but Bride equalised just before the end of the game and it went to extra time!
2 great goals made all the difference in extra time & Blarney won the game by six points. It was a fantastic team performance by all the players who gave everything they had and never gave up. There was great celebrations at the final whistle as captain Conor O’ Sullivan lifted the shield.
