On bank holiday Monday, the u16 Blarney football team faced off against Crosshaven in what turned out to be a challenging and windy game. This was the Blarney team's first game of the season. The typically picturesque seaside town was wild and blustery and supporters battled with umbrellas while wearing full wet gear on the sidelines! The game started off on a positive note for Blarney with both teams displaying strong defence and skilful plays. However, the windy conditions proved to be a significant factor throughout the game, making it difficult for both sides to maintain control of the ball and execute their plays effectively. As the game progressed, Crosshaven managed to take advantage of the windy conditions, scoring several points and gaining the upper hand over Blarney. Despite their best efforts, Blarney found it challenging to keep up with Crosshaven's pace and precision, ultimately leading to their loss. Throughout the game, Blarney never gave up and improved as the game went on. Though the day was dreary, the future is bright!
Blarney 2-3 Crosshaven 2-13.
